Introduced in 1920, this Walther Model 8 has an attractive full coverage gold finish and a fine set of smooth grip panels with "CW" and "6,35" inlaid panels. Fixed sights, with the one-line address on the right side of the slide, "Walthers Patent Mod. 8." on the left side over the Walther banner and "crown/N" proofs on the slide, frame and muzzle. The magazine is gold finished to match the pistol, with a recessed "W" in the base. Included with the pistol is a hardwood case, which has a velvet lined French-cut interior in the bottom and a lid cushion bearing the Walther banner and German text that translates as "The best for personal protection is the new Walther Pistol Model 8, the newest product from the Walther Weapons Factory of Zella-Mehlis, Thuringia", suggesting that the set was intended for a sales display or similar exhibition.

Fine, with 30% plus original gold finish, strongest around the grips, with a mixed brown and gray patina on the remainder, some light handling marks, and minor spotting. The grips are fine, with attractive aging of the grain, attractive color, and minor handling marks. The case is very good, with some play developing in the hinges and staining of the interior. Mechanically excellent.
