Description:

Manufactured by the Tokyo Arsenal from 1909 to 1928, the Baby Nambu was the semi-official officer's pistol of the Imperial Japanese Military; officers would privately purchase their sidearms, with the Baby Nambu presented as the local alternative to imports from firms like Colt, FN and Walther. Fixed sights, with the "stacked cannonball" arsenal marking on top of the chamber and the nomenclature markings and serial number on the right side of the frame. Fitted with checkered grips and a nickel finished, alloy base magazine. Matching numbers are present on the magazine, cocking knob, mainspring guide, barrel and grip panels. Included with the pistol is an unmarked Japanese brown pigskin/leather holster for another undetermined Japanese Pistol with shoulder strap.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 80% plus original blue finish, showing mild spotting concentrated on the gripstraps, patches of gray patina on top of the frame, and mild edge wear and handling marks overall. Some scuffs are present on the cocking knob serrations. Grips are also very fine, with crisp checkering, mild dings. The holster and strap are fine and show minor scuffing and cracking, and some lost stitching. Mechanically excellent.
