This is an excellent example of a Commercial Walther HP semi-automatic pistol in 9mm parabellum. Forerunner to the Walther P.38, the Walther Model HP (Heeres Pistole, literally Army Pistol) is most commonly seen proofed for commercial sale in Germany and abroad. Blade and notch sights, with the Walther banner, two-line address/caliber marking and "Mod HP" on the left side of the slide, commercial "crown/N" proofs on the right of the slide, barrel, locking lug and frame, and matching numbers on the right of the frame, front of the barrel lug, the underside of the slide and locking lug. "35" marked on the right side of the barrel; noted on other examples of HP pistols although its origin is unknown. "Cewe", "480" and "1" mold markings on the interiors of the checkered grip panels.

Excellent, retains 97% plus bright original high polish blue finish, showing some minor handling marks and minor finish wear on the leading edges of the slide. The grips are also excellent, with a few minor scratches. Mechanically excellent.
