Description:

Manufactured under contract for the United States Army in 1919. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, two line Colt's address, model designation, and U.S. property mark on the barrel, "rampant colt" logo and "eagle head/S19" proof on the left of the frame, and "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917" and "No/65/950" marked on the bottom of the butt. Fitted with a pair of smooth oiled walnut grips with matching "202443" written on the interiors in pencil.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 80% plus original blue finish retained, along with a minor cylinder drag line, limited minor edge wear, thinning/smooth grey patina on the grip straps, and scattered minor spotting/smooth brown patina. The walnut grips are exceptionally fine with minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
