This excellent original Springfield M1903 rifle features a "SA/flaming bomb/2-23" marked barrel, wide blade front sight and tangent rear sight with a polished face and no volley notch, parkerized finish overall with non-polished bolt or receiver rails unlike the more commonly encountered National Match rifles of the same time frame, straight grip "S" type stock with two reinforcing bolts, the left of the stock is stamped with a boxed "J.F.C." (J.F. Coyle) inspection cartouche with a circled serif "P" proof on the underside behind the trigger guard, with a smooth steel buttplate. Includes a Springfield "1921" dated parkerized M1905 bayonet, Rock Island Arsenal "1907" dated brown leather scabbard with "1921" dated Rock Island Arsenal modified collar section, Turner Saddlery "12-98" dated reproduction brown leather M1907 sling, and cleaning kit/oiler in stock.
