Hooded blade front and folding ladder rear sights, "SA/11-15" barrel, and milled triggerguard assembly bearing the "(flaming bomb)/N.R.A." marking to distinguish it from items still in government inventory. Oil quenched casehardened receiver, safety and magazine cut-off, and all blued milled components that include barrel bands, bolt, trigger guard, and floorplate. "S" style stock with single reinforcing bolt, high hump handguard with proper rear sight clearance cut, and sharply checkered steel buttplate with compartment. Serrated trigger, dished windage and elevation knob, and rear sight leaf with the 2,850 yard notch. "H" marked on the bayonet lug, "8 1" marked on the right of the rear bolt lug, the left stock wrist is stamped with the Ordnance final inspection initials "J.S.A." in a rectangle, a small "FB" in the cutoff recess, and a small "23" above a circled script "P" firing proof stamped behind the trigger guard. Includes a "1906" dated Springfield M1905 bayonet, "R.I.A./1909" brown leather sheath with "1907" dated RIA belt loop adapter on the swivel, and a "1918" dated brown leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 85% plus original blue and casehardened finish, showing brown patina on the barrel bands and parts of the triggerguard, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The stock is also very fine, with some light scratches and dings. The bayonet is in very fine condition. Mechanically excellent.
