Description:

Manufactured in the United States using a combination of new-made components and military-surplus hardware as a semi-automatic, closed-bolt reproduction of the British Bren light machine gun. Licensed as a modified version of the Czech ZB-26 light machine gun in the late 1930s, the Bren, or "Bren Gun" as its users fondly called it, saw extensive use with Britain and Commonwealth forces throughout World War II, the Cold War era, and was even used in the Falklands War, before being phased out in the 1990s. This example is configured as a Bren Mk II, introduced in 1941 with simplified components for ease of manufacture. Features winged blade front and folding peep rear sight, a conical flash hider and adjustable gas block on the Australian "MA" marked and "10 43" dated barrel, and folding steel bipod. With Historic Arms markings on the left and "INGLIS/1943" marked on the right side of the receiver. During the rebuild process the "A" selector position was physically blocked, with only the "S" and "R" positions usable. Fitted with a smooth walnut pistol grip and buttstock with steel buttplate. Includes two khaki "Canadian broad arrow" marked dual Bren magazine web pouches, three extra magazines (one does not completely latch), a spare charging handle rod, and a Bren specific combination tool.

Rating Definition:

Excellent as re-manufactured by Historic Arms, retaining 98% plus parkerized finish with minimal overall handling marks and faint spotting. The walnut furniture is very fine as splice repaired, with a glued crack running up the comb of the buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
