Manufactured from 1921 to 1944, with this example displaying exceptional factory relief engraving. The full deluxe engraving covers 70% of the metal surfaces, with oak leaf and punch dot pattern on the slide and frame. Similar pistols of the era were often used as presentation gifts for high ranking German officials. The left side of the slide is marked "Walther's Patent Mod. 9" above the Walther banner, and the right has the Walther address marking. Commercial "Crown/N" proof stamped on the right side of the frame. Fitted with a set of checkered hard rubber grips featuring a blue and gold Walther monogram medallion on the left panel and "6.35" medallion on the right panel.

Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus bright original blue finish with minimal minor spotting/pitting and limited handling marks. Mechanically excellent. An exemplary factory engraved Walther Model 9 from World War II era production!
