Description:

Ferlach has long been home to some of the finest gunmakers in Europe and Juch-Grund was certainly among them. This magnificent rifle drilling was built with blued Bohler Super Blitz steel barrels featuring a ramped beaded blade front sight with flip-up moon sight, three leaf (one standing, two folding) rear sight on the quarter rib along with a set of richly decorated German claw mounts holding a Zeiss Diavari VM 1.5-6x42mm T* scope and "Juch - Grund - Ferlach" inlaid in gold. The upper two barrels are embellished with scrollwork and gold inlaid linework which matches the scope rings and mounts, a single gold band around all three muzzles, and all three barrels feature chambers with gold plated automatic ejectors. The barrels are marked with 1999 dated Austrian proofs and are fitted to a gorgeously casehardened bolstered hand detachable sidelock action which displays English style bouquet and scroll engraving with interspersed gold inlaid sections of scroll all of which extends from the action onto the toplever, triggerguard, and both tangs. The sidelock pins and internals are gold plated. The rifle features bushed firing pins, dual gold plated single set triggers, gold cocking indicators, and a tang mounted engraved and gold inlaid manual safety/selector with gold "S", "300", and "416" markings for switch between the 416 Rigby barrels and the 300 Holland & Holland Magnum barrel. The rifle is mounted with an absolutely brilliant, highly figured and fancy panel checkered forend with casehardened, engraved, and gold inlaid fittings along with a pistol grip stock which features teardrop carved drop points, a shadowline cheekpiece, "JJ" inlaid in gold on the engraved and casehardened grip cap, rear sling stud, and casehardened, engraved, and gold inlaid skeleton buttplate around a smooth bare butt. Includes a metal takedown case with factory trade label inside lid, brass oiler, snap caps, muzzle cover, sling, and cleaning tools. Length of pull 15 3/16 inches. Weight 12 lbs. 11 oz. (with scope). Provenance: The Harro Kniffka Collection, esteemed European collector of fine sporting guns and rifles and Founder of Hanseatic Lloyd Schiffahrt

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue, gold, and casehardened finishes with only minor handling evidence, some minor edge wear on parts of the action, a small ding in the stock behind the left lockplate, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent. Don't miss this chance to own a triple rifle which is as rare as it is beautiful!
