Imported in 1966 by Golden State Arms, one of the first importers of the early HK G3 and HK41 rifles. Features a hooded post front and 4-position drum rear sights, and "11/65" date on the left side of the magazine well. The trigger group is marked "MADE IN GERMANY FOR/SANTA FE DIVISION/GOLDEN STATE ARMS CORPORATION/PASADENA-CALIFORNIA-U.S.A./CAL. 7,62 mm NATO", "S/F" marked trigger group with welded receiver tabs (to prevent the installation of an automatic trigger group), and functional flapper magazine release. Fitted with ventilated and fluted walnut handguard, textured polymer pistol grip, and fixed walnut buttstock with ribbed steel buttplate. Numbers match on receiver, bolt, and bolt carrier. Exceptionally fine, with 90% plus original phosphate finish, light spotting, and minor handling marks. Stock is excellent with light handling evidence. Scope is excellent with clear optics, though the mount attaches off-center. Mechanically excellent.
