Tom P. Weston is well-known for his incredible miniatures produced in Mexico City in the 1950s and 1960s. Miniature firearms have been around for centuries. It is said that to become a master craftsman in Europe, journeymen had to produced scale miniatures to the satisfaction of their masters in order to earn the title of master themselves. They would take these "masterpieces" with them on sales trips to impress potential clients. Several powerful world leaders are said to have been or currently are collectors of miniature arms including Vladimir Putin. This miniature is a fully functional, approximately half scale replica of a Colt Paterson No. 1 pocket revolver, also known as "the baby Paterson". The Paterson family of revolvers mark Samuel Colt's first foray into the business of revolving firearms, for which he would become legendary. This example is fitted with the later production loading lever and capping channel, is finished in nitre blue, and fitted with a pair of smooth hardwood grips. The bore measures approximately 3mm and the touch holes are vented. Includes a hardwood presentation case, powder flask, ball mold, and nipple wrench, all of which are also approximately half scale.

Excellent overall, retains 99% plus of the original nitre blue finish with only the slightest handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent. The accessories are exceptionally fine with some attractively aged patina. The case is excellent with only the slightest handling/storage marks.
