Manufactured circa 1938-1939. Features fixed blade front and folding ladder rear sights (sans volley notch), "SA/1-38" marked barrel with "*" star gauge mark at the muzzle and "B/2270/T" mark under the handguard, and polished "N.S." marked bolt with matching electro-penciled serial number on the body. Fitted with a smooth walnut semi-pistol grip "S" stock, with "D-1839" part number and matching "1519860" serial number struck on top of an older serial number under the butt, dual "circle P" firing proofs on the pistol grip, dual "S.A./S.P.G." cartouches on the left side, and fitted with a heavy checkered steel trapdoor buttplate, topped off with a "D28179" numbered handguard. Includes a "P.J. O'HARE" marked National Match muzzle/front sight cover, and rear sight cover, and rear sight micrometer, along with a brass hooked and "G.&K./1918/H.H.B." marked Model 1907 leather sling.
