This particular Registered Magnum with low reg. no. 302 is one of 1,518 manufactured with a 6 1/2 inch barrel. The accompanying factory letter states the revolver was shipped on August 6, 1935 and delivered to Edwards & Walker of Portland, Maine, with a 6 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, 1/10 inch Patridge front sight (currently fitted with a blade front sight with red insert), square notch rear sight, and grip adapter. The included invoices from Edwards & Walker Co. and S&W and S&W order form indicate that this order contained two Registered Magnums with a 6 1/2 inch barrel. The accompanying letter from S&W addressed to Edwards & Walker Co., attn: St. John states that the two revolvers were assigned registered nos. 301 and 302 and again confirmed the barrel length as 6 1/2 inches. Excellent, retaining 98% original blue finish with some muzzle wear, a cylinder drag line and scattered handling marks. 99% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are very fine with some minor handling marks and a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
