Description:

Manufactured in 1952. These Super .38 pistols were first shown to the public at the August 1928 Camp Perry National Matches and were available for purchase by the start of 1929. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed), as well as shipment to The Sutcliffe Company in Louisville, Kentucky on 11 September 1952. The left side of the slide has the Colt and caliber marking followed by the Rampant Colt. The right side of the slide has the one-line Colt address. The serial number is on the right of the frame, and the left of the trigger guard is marked "J", "VP", and "4". The blued barrel is unmarked and has a polished chamber hood. Fitted with blade and notch sights, narrow checkered hammer, long grip safety, arched serrated mainspring housing, checkered grips, and a full blue .38 Super Auto magazine. Includes the original box numbered to the gun, cleaning brush, and manual.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retains 99% plus of the original blue finish with a few scattered very light handling marks. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with some light handling/storage wear.
