Description:

This rifle by R.J. Lang of Hays, Kansas, from c. 1976 features two rifled barrels with traditional blade and notch sights, "R.J. LANG" marked behind the rear sights, and "G.R. DOUGLAS 40 CAL" on the right barrel towards the breech. The locks are marked "1976/W.L. COCHRAN" on the inside and are fired using adjustable double set triggers. The furniture is nickel-silver with engraving. The maple stock has attractive molding and bold raised relief carving. The rifle is accompanied by provenance information indicating it was purchased in 1983 and subsequently tuned, engraved by Ron Smith, and refinished. Rating Definition:

Very fine as custom upgraded with 98% of the refinished brown remaining, aged patina on the furniture, and minor wear from age and storage. The stock is also excellent and has crisp carving and minimal light age and handling related wear. Mechanically fine.
