The underside of the barrel also has "BUG" proofs including the "172/28" bore marking (8 mm, likely 8.15 x 46R) and "A KRUPPSCHER/GUSSSTAHL".

Rating Definition:

Fine with crisp engraving, bright original gold, aged patina on the silver, 50% plus original blue finish blended with smooth brown patina, patches of original case colors in some of the protected areas, gray patina, some minor oxidation, and general mild wear. The wood is very fine and has crisp carving and minor dings and scratches. The underside of the butt has small partial labels and some tape. Mechanically excellent. Overall, a very attractive schuetzen rifle.
