Equipped with fine replacement browned Damascus steel barrels a single bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which is marked (faintly) "ARMY NAVY C.S.L. LONDON", light engraving at the breech, London nitro proofs, and chambers proofed for 1 1/8 oz. of shot (2 1/2 inch) with a single extractor. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened push forward underlever receiver with back action locks which all display attractive scroll engraving extending to the double trigger triggerguard, both tangs, and the rebounding hammers and surrounds "RICHARD JEFFERY" signed on either lockplate. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings including the Deeley latch release and a straight grip stock with a blank gold inscription oval and a leather wrapped recoil pad. Included is a Thomas Ferney & Co. canvas and leather takedown case. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech proofed at "12" (.729 inches) and measured .733/.737 inches; choke constriction .004/.005 inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.023 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 1 5/8 inch drop at heel; 15 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 2 oz.

Very fine as professionally refinished, retaining 99% brown and casehardened finishes, some blue loss on the lower tang, some minor handling evidence, some pitting beneath the forend, some small gaps in the wood to metal fit, and crisp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent.
