Manufactured in May of 1943. Blade front sight and peep rear sight with locking adjustment drums, with a Springfield "SA" bolt, trigger housing, hammer, safety, and early pattern uncut operating rod. The barrel is dated "1 S A-4-43". The smooth pistol grip stock is stamped with "S.A./E.McF." and "crossed cannon" cartouches on the left side, a circled serifed "P" on the wrist, leather sling and a checkered buttplate.
