Exceptional World War II U.S. Inland Mfg. Div. M1A1 Semi-Automatic Paratrooper Carbine with Jump Case

Manufactured in the Autumn of 1943, within the known serial number range (approximately 42,000 to 850,000) of the "first contract" run of Inland M1A1 paratrooper carbines, totaling 71,000 produced from October 1942 to October 1943. Features a "N" marked winged blade front and "S" marked flip peep rear sights, "8-43" dated Inland barrel, "P-I" marked Type I slide, "A.I." blued flat top bolt, milled Inland trigger housing, smooth button safety, "W-I" Type III magazine catch, "RI" sear, and "HI" marked Type III "dog leg" hammer. Fitted with a high-wood oiled walnut stock marked "IO on the interior, featuring a folding wire metal butt with leather cheek rest and cast buttplate, "fat boy" walnut pistol grip marked "IO" and "crossed cannons" on the bottom, and topped off with an "IO" marked two rivet deep groove handguard. Includes a web M1A1 Carbine drop-leg jump case for paratroopers, web sling, and oiler.

ConditionExceptionally fine, retaining 90% plus original parkerized finish with minor edge wear, scattered minor spotting/freckling within the finish, limited minor pitting on the buttplate, some brown patina showing, and otherwise mild handling wear. The stock is fine with numerous dents and a chip missing from the nose and left of the grip, a minor dent in the left of the buttplate, but otherwise minor handling evidence and rich original oil finish. Mechanically excellent. The jump case is very fine.
