Manufactured at the Remington Eddystone plant under contract for the British government. Fixed blade front and adjustable ladder and peep rear sights with the matching serial number stamped on the rear sight, and retains its volley sights on the left side of the stock and receiver. The receiver is stamped with standard British proof and acceptance marks, as is the bottom of the stock wrist. The matching number bolt and rear sight ladder are correctly stamped with an "E". Smooth straight grip stock, with a broad arrow above circled "IE" and "PATT '14/E-Y" and painted stencil "537" on the right side of the buttstock. "EY" is also stamped on the left of the receiver. According to page 216 of "The Lee-Enfield Rifle" by Major E.G.B. Reynolds, the "EY" markings may denote reclassification to "Emergency Use" only. Includes a "1 17" dated Pattern 1913 bayonet, leather scabbard with metal ends, tan canvas sling, and oiler in the butt compartment.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, retains 85% plus original blue finish with scattered light freckling. Stock is also excellent, with a few light handling marks, and distinct edges and stamps. Mechanically excellent. Bayonet and scabbard are fine.
