Manufactured in 1910 and subsequently upgraded to the current "Special Grade" configuration with blued steel barrels featuring dual bead sights on the matted concave solid rib, "KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY" and "A. H. FOX GUN Co. PHILA. PA." marked on the right and left tubes respectively, and 2 5/8 inch chambers with a single extractor. The barrels display a single band of engraving at either muzzle along with two gold inlaid representations of scaled quail ahead of a gold band and 1 3/4 inch wedge of scroll engraving at either breech. The barrels are mated to a casehardened finished boxlock action which is marked "SPECIAL" on the watertable and displays scroll engraving surrounding small "ANSLEY H. FOX" banners on either side along with a pointer flushing a woodcock on the left, a setter flushing a quail on the right, and three more gold inlaid representations of scaled quail on the underside. The engraving continues onto the toplever, tangs, and triggerguard which is inlaid with a gold three letter set of initials. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and fancy checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and an ebony tip inlay along with a straight grip stock with checkered flats and a leather faced rubber recoil pad.
