Manufactured by Winchester under contract for the government of Great Britain. Features winged blade front and folding ladder rear sights, "circle star" proofed receiver with a correct "W" prefix serial number, "star" proofed bolt handle with matching serial number, "W" marked striker, and retained dial adjustable front and flip up peep rear volley sights installed on the left side of the stock and receiver. Fitted with a smooth oiled walnut stock with retained brass unit disc in the butt, trapdoor steel buttplate, and marked "88" and "W" on the nose. Includes a "1913/3-17/W" marked, British "crown/W9/A" and "crown/35/A" proofed, blued bayonet with ribbed walnut grips, leather sheath, and "G.&K./1918/J.L.R." marked M1907 leather sling. Very few Winchester Pattern 14 rifles in a similar level of condition have been sold through Rock Island Auction Co. in the past, with one example noted as possibly being a Winchester factory retained sample.

Excellent plus, as issued retaining 98% plus original polished blue finish with a slight plum coloration and fading on the receiver and barrel, bright roll marks, and limited handling evidence. Stock is also excellent with limited faint handling marks and attractive original raised grain. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet and scabbard are exceptionally excellent with limited minor handling wear and minor staining/freckling to the blade. A benchmark example of an original Winchester Pattern 14 rifle that would be a highlight of any advanced Winchester of British military themed collection and impossible to improve on!
