This is an excellent example of a commercial Model 1906 American Eagle Luger as produced by DWM. This type of Luger was manufactured expressly for export to the United States to increase sales for DWM with this being a late production model, chambered in 9mm Parabellum (Luger). This model has the short frame and upper receiver with the 4 inch barrel configuration. The top of the chamber is marked with the American Eagle crest, DWM logo on the front toggle, "crown/N" commercial proof on the underside of the barrel along with the matching serial number, the left of the barrel extension is also marked with the single "crown/N" proof, the front of the frame is marked with the full serial number over "GERMANY" indicating export outside of Europe, various small parts are correctly numbered in the commercial manner with the matching last two digits of the serial number, with unnumbered grips and an unnumbered replacement commercial magazine with a small bomb stamp on the walnut base.
