This is an exceptional example of a Japanese "Baby Nambu" pistol that is complete with its original matching magazine, an original Baby Nambu holster with shoulder strap, and an ammunition box. Manufactured by the Tokyo Arsenal between 1909-1928, the Baby Nambu was the semi-official officer's pistol of the Imperial Japanese Military; officers would privately purchase their sidearms, with the Baby Nambu presented as the local alternative to imports from firms like Colt, FN and Walther. These pistols were designated as a Type "B" to differentiate it from the larger Grandpa and Papa Nambu series. Fixed sights, with the "stacked cannonball" arsenal marking on top of the chamber and the nomenclature markings and serial number on the right side of the frame. Fitted with checkered grips and a nickel finished, alloy base magazine. All visible serial numbered components are matching, including the inside of the left grip panel and the magazine, with the right grip panel unnumbered. Includes a brown leather Baby Nambu clamshell holster with built in ammunition pouch on front and an attached leather shoulder strap, and also includes an ammunition box containing approximately 23 cartridges of 7mm Nambu ammunition (appear to be misfires with dented primers).

Excellent overall, retains 95% original blue finish with some light edge wear, a few small patches of oxidation and light surface freckling, 50% straw finish on the small components, and some minor handling marks in the otherwise excellent grips with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Holster is very good, missing bottom of flap retaining strap, with some light age related cracking, and the box is good with some wear and torn flaps.
