Coin sideplate action with game scenes consisting of a pheasant in a field scene on the left and a duck in a marsh on the right surrounded by floral scroll work and wavy line borders on all sides and "MERKEL" on the underside. The left sideplate is signed "G. Richter" for German engraver Gunther Richter. The action is fitted with double triggers and a sliding manual safety. Mounted in a nicely contrasted and figured multipoint checkered three-piece forend with engraved fittings and Deeley release and plastic grip cap and buttplate.
