The barrels are mated to a casehardened boxlock action displays beautiful DE engraving coverage level although considerable different from the standard DE pattern of the period. Consisting of floral scrollwork surrounding "ANSLEY H. FOX" on either side as well as a circular game scene showing a pigeon in flight on the underside, as well as "Special" engraved next to the D Grade designation and remarked serial number on the watertable. The gun features double triggers and tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release and a round knob pistol grip stock with checkered flats and a rubber recoil pad.
