This revolver is similar to the Lefaucheux Model 1858 and was finished mainly in bright metal and has a triangular front sight, hammer groove rear sight, Liege proofs, foliate scroll pattern grips, a lanyard ring on the butt, and floral and game scene engraving. "23" is marked on the right side at the heel, back of the right grip, back of the cylinder, and back of the barrel lug, and "78" is marked on the right side of the front strap. It is accompanied by four 25 round boxes of 9 mm pinfire ammunition and a small bag of loose ammunition.

Exceptionally fine with most of the niter blue finish remaining on the front sight, hammer, and trigger; mostly crisp original bright metal throughout, some light oxidation and patination, crisp engraving, and minor overall wear. Mechanically excellent. The ammunition is generally fine with some oxidation of the lead and mild storage wear on the cartridges and box.
