One of roughly 7,500 to 8,500 Model 1906 "American Eagle" commercial Luger pistols chambered in 7.65 mm Luger Auto that were manufactured by DWM. These pistols were made specifically for the United States market and were sold through sporting goods stores and catalogs. The Model 1906 incorporated improved components over the Model 1900, including a solid checkered toggle, coiled recoil spring, and more durable extractor. Features fixed sights, grip safety, an "American eagle" crest on top of the chamber, "GERMANY" export mark on front of the frame, and "DWM" monogram on the front toggle. A small "shield" stamp is present on the underside of the barrel, with a "LOADED" marked extractor, bright polished lower safety position, and (with the exception of the correct unnumbered magazine) matching commercial pattern serial numbers, including on the checkered hardwood grips. Included with the lot is an brown leather shoulder holster by Carr Fast Co. of Boston. Provenance: Property of a Gentleman

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 90% of the original blue finish, showing minor spotting, edge wear and handling marks overall. Significant rust is present inside the magazine well, with some also visible on the exterior of the grip frame. 80% of the straw color is present on the small parts, with some areas fading to gray. The grips are also very fine, with an internal crack forming in the left panel and mild dings on the checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fair, with cracking, tears and stains.
