Description:

The government of Denmark began negotiations with Fabrique Nationale on the procurement of High Power pistols in 1939-1940, with the Danish request for a redesigned lanyard loop that delayed the order until it could not be fulfilled due to the German occupation of Belgium in May 1940. After the end of World War II, the Danish contract was finally filed by FN with roughly 1,700 pistols made in 1946, the first post-war contract FN High-Power pistols to be made without wartime materials. These pistols were ultimately issued to the Danish military and border guards. Features serrated blade front and fixed notch rear sights, un-slotted backstrap, left side mounted ring lanyard loop, Danish "M.1946." and "crown/HV." property marks roll marked on the left side of the frame, and "Hammerli" laser etched onto the top of the barrel and underside of the slide. With matching serial numbers on the frame, slide, and barrel, along with "lion/PV" and "star/E" proofs as well as a Liege proof on the barrel. The underside of the grip frame bears an importer mark. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips with red painted interiors and "JI" marked parkerized magazine.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, retaining 90% original blue finish with some minor holster pattern edge wear, some plum coloration on the front half of the slide, limited minor freckling, and scattered light handling marks. The grips are very fine with minor handling marks in the defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
