Manufactured in 1936, the second year of production. Standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on the barrel and receiver. Hooded ramp front and a bolt peep sight with a filler block in the rear sight dovetail slot. Checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with hard rubber factory grip cap, quick release sling swivels and checkered steel buttplate. Includes a Pawnee leather carrying case. Provenance: The David L. Very fine. The rifle retains 85% plus original blue finish showing loss at the muzzle, some high edge wear and some thinning to a brown (mostly on the receiver and forend cap). Some light spotting is present on the lower tang. The refinished wood is fine with a couple small missing chips near the tangs and some scattered minor handing marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine.
