Description:

William Buchele (1895-1977) was a talented and influential 20th century artisan who produced a wide array of muzzleloading firearms and related items such as powder horns and tomahawks. He has remained highly influential as the author of the book "Recreating the American Longrifle" which has helped guide other generations of rifle builders. This pistol's rifled straight octagon barrel has a dovetailed silver blade front sight, dovetailed notch rear sight, and "W. Buchele" signed on top. The barrel and Russ Hamm "MASLIN/WARRANTED" lock have an antiqued brown finish. The furniture is brass and primarily features scroll and floral engraving. There are also nickel-silver inlays. The curly maple stock has scroll and floral carving at the barrel tang. The pistol comes in a fitted wood case with a loading rod, balls, antique flask, flints, ball mold, and punch.

Rating Definition:

Very good with most of the original "antiqued" brown finish remaining, aged patina on the mounts, and minor age and storage related wear. Mechanically fine. The case and accessories are also very good.
