Description:

Distinguished from other Saginaw M1 carbine output by the use of the "S'G'" marking on the receiver heel, these carbines were made by Saginaw using assets claimed from the firm of Irwin-Pedersen in Grand Rapids when their M1 production run came to an end. This receiver falls in the first block, manufactured April 1943 - June 1943. Unmarked blade front sight and "S" and "B-IP" two-leaf rear sight, Underwood "9-43" barrel, "S'G'" flat top bolt, unmarked pushbutton safety, "P" marked magazine catch, machined "S'G'" triggerguard, "S'G'" hammer, "SW-S'G'" sear, and "S'G'" slide. High wood stock with "RSG" two-rivet handguard, "KV-S'G'" Type I barrel band, and an oval oiler cut, with "S'G'" on the right side of the stock near the "crossed cannons" and "SG" in the sling cut. Includes a tan web sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 90% of the original parkerized finish, showing a plum tone to the barrel, some areas of gray patina on the receiver, and minor edge wear and handling marks overall. The stock is also very fine, with some chipping around the trigger guard and recoil plates, and light dents and scuffs overall. Mechanically excellent.
