Description:

Manufactured in 1941, the Robert Sears inspected Colt Model 1911A1s marked the transition point from Colt's high polish blue to the Parkerization treatment that would become the standard for the rest of the war. Blade and flat top notch sights, with the Rampant Colt bisected address and patents on the matching numbered slide, "RS." stamped frame (both on the left side and near the disconnector), "T/VP" and "69" on the trigger guard, short milled trigger, wide hammer, checkered slide stop, thumb safety and mainspring housing, correct early style (hollow back) unreinforced grips, unmarked two-tone magazine and a "COLT 45 AUTO"/small "G" marked full-blue barrel.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, with faint and thin takedown lines on the slide and frame, minor spotting concentrated on the grip frame, and some light handling marks overall. The grips are also excellent, with a few light dings. Mechanically excellent though the magazine spring is weak, and does not activate the slide stop.
