Built by a Birmingham maker (likely Webley & Scott) and upon near completion the gun was sent to Holland & Holland for final finishing and regulation to be retailed by them. The gun is built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which is marked "SHOT & REGULATED BY, HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98 NEW BOND STREET, LONDON.", original Birmingham nitro proof marks as well as later overstamped proof marks on the flats, flourish of scroll engraving at the breech, and chambers measured 2 1/2 inches with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a dainty casehardened boxlock action which displays attractive scroll engraving which continues onto the toplever, triggerguard, and both tangs. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety switch with gold inlaid "S" indicator. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings as well as a straight grip stock with carved drop points, blank inscription oval, and a serrated bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at "29" (.543 inches) and measured .552/.553 inches; choke constriction .001/.018 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 13/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 5 lbs. 6 oz.

Very fine, retaining 95% original blue finish, 80% original case colors, and some light handling evidence. The freshened wood shows a few scratches, some evidence of sanding, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
