The barrels are fitted to the casehardened action which displays scroll engraving and oval game bird scene on either side as well as "L. C. SMITH" signatures. The gun features a single Hunter One trigger and a tang mounted manual safety switch. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and ebony tip as well as a pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap and buttplate. The included Cody Museum record search confirms the current gauge, grade, barrel length, ejectors, and barrel steel when the gun was completed on June 9th, 1908. Also includes a period wood and leather takedown case. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .616/.616 inches; choke constriction .025/.025 inches; minimum wall thickness .035/.034 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 12 15/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 2 oz.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 98% professionally reapplied blue finish, 40% original case colors on the action with the balance a fine grey, and light handling evidence. The wood is shortened and re-oiled with a few light marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is good with transit wear.
