Description:

Produced by the Bellmore-Johnson Tool Company under license from Olin Corp. Marked "USE 10 GA. BLANK ONLY" on top of the chamber, with the serial number "S 799" on the left. Mounted on a matching finished "W.R.A.Co." marked steel carriage with pined steel wheels. Measures 6 1/2 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches long. Includes a matching numbered "ONE/BREECH/LOADING/CANNON" marked Winchester wooden crate, separated striker lanyard, and a 8-Track cartridge marked Bing Crosby. The consignor states the cannon was purchased from Gary Hess and was from the personal collection of John Wayne and further noted that Wayne would fire it on his yacht the Wild Goose at Catalina Island every day at 5 to let the dock master know it was time for a drink on his boat. Very fine overall, retaining 89% plus black finish with some dimpling in the paint, chipping an minor spotting on the carriage and wheels, a broken striker spring, and light handling marks.
