This impressive factory engraved, silver and gold plated revolver was manufactured by the Colt Custom Shop as one of a limited run of only 250. The included factory letter lists this revolver in 44/40 with 7 1/2 inch barrel, grips scrimshawed with Buffalo Bill Cody's bust and "TE" cattle brand, fluted cylinder, silver plated barrel, trigger guard, and backstrap; gold plated cylinder, ejector tube, ejector rod and head, base pin, hammer, and trigger; Type "C" scroll engraving cut by A. A. White engravers and furbished with a gold embossed leather case with French style fitted velvet interior with inscribed top, and special features listed as standard barrel markings on top, no side barrel markings, Buffalo Bill Cody's birth and death dates in place of the patent dates, Winchester Trademark horse on the left behind the inscription "BUFFALO BILL HISTORICAL CENTER WINCHESTER MUSEUM 1 of 250", Cody's signature on the backstrap, and a Buffalo head on the left side of the frame when shipped to Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Wyoming on February 22, 1982.

Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original silver and gold finishes with limited handling marks, crisp engraving, and a cylinder drag line. Mechanically excellent. Box and case are very fine.
