Manufactured in 1931 as one of only 463 manufactured in this configuration per the chart on page 258 of "The Parker Story" by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote making this quite a rare gun. The gun was built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which is marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. VULCAN. STEEL", and chambers measured 2 1/2 inches with a single extractor. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened boxlock action which displays the standard Grade V zig-zag border engraving with "Parker Bros." on either side and features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a lightly figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend and a round knob pistol grip stock with blank silver inscription shield, circled "PHD" stamp on the right flat, and Parker dog's head buttplate. The above configuration is confirmed on page 588 of "Parker Gun Identification & Serialization" by Price and Fjestad. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .410/.408 inches; choke constriction .013/.011 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 5 lbs. 12 oz.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, retaining 98% original blue finish, 90% original case colors with some fading to silver on the underside, minor handling evidence, a few small scratches on the wood, and crisp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. A great chance to own a fantastic scarce American small bore shotgun!
