The Premier, or F, grade was exclusively the product of the Remington Factory Custom Shop, with masterfully hand-fitted components and superb embellishment. This particular example was produced in 1983, during the tenure of Don Talbot, master engraver. Talbot, regarded as one of the best to ever work for Remington, is a master of the American style of game scene engraving, as well as a practitioner of the Italian "bulino" school, which uses near-microscopic line and dot work to produce shading and depth rarely seen on American arms. White front and nickel mid bead sights, with a Remington Special Skeet choke, the two line address on the right side of the barrel, and the 2 3/4 inch chamber markings on the reverse. A 3 1/2" wedge of scroll engraving with punch-dot background is present on each side of the breech, terminating with a leaf border pattern. The receiver shows over 98% coverage of fine scrollwork, with punch dot type backgrounds, leafy vine border designs, floral patterns on the trigger guard retention pins, a dog's head on the underside of the trigger guard, and a leaf design on the rear of the operating handle. The model marking and serial number are in a pair of banners on the left side, with a three panel field scene of a game bird in flight on either side and a pair of dogs in the center, and a similar arrangement on the right. Fitted with an extra fancy high grade walnut stock, featuring sharp checkering on the forearm and pistol grip, integrating spade and flare patterns into the border lines, a black grip cap with white diamond inset, and a Kick-Eez solid recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 4 oz.

Near new with minimal handling marks overall. The engraving is finely executed and really fantastic. The detail is extraordinary. The excellent wood is also spectacular showing a fine grain pattern and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
