Bore Condition: The bore is fairly bright and has some light pitting and distinct rifling.
Description:

Manufactured c.mid 19th century. William Tranter (1816-1890) patented his innovative self-cocking and double action revolvers in the mid-1850s, and they were among the earliest double action revolvers alongside the Adams and Beaumont-Adams. This example feature classic English scroll and border engraving, a dovetailed post front sight, "W. TRANTER'S/PATENT" on the loading lever arm and left side of the frame, "HH" on the front left of the frame, Birmingham proofs on the upper left barrel flat and cylinder, "No 16003.T." on the right side of the frame, and a checkered walnut grip. The revolver comes in a fitted mahogany case with green baize lining and a variety of accessories, including a 54 bore (.442 caliber) Tranter mold and Tranter bullet tin.

Rating Definition:

Very good with mostly silver-gray patina, some original blue remaining in the protected areas, minor pitting, distinct markings and engraving, and mild wear. The grip is fine and has crisp checkering with minor spots of wear. Mechanically fine. The case and accessories are fine and have age and storage related wear.
