Manufactured c. late 19th century. Built with browned twist steel shotgun barrel and fluid steel rifle barrel featuring a beaded blade front sight and a fixed rear sight on the matted flat solid rib which is marked "JAQUES KNECHT, ZURICH", front sling swivel, a single band of engraving at the breech, and chambers with a single extractor. Per the consignor, the rifle is chambered for 10.4mm Vetterli (.41 Swiss). The shotgun barrel has a 2 5/8 inch chamber and a choke constriction of inches. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened back action which displays attractive scroll engraving and features rebounding hammers and double triggers with single set front. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and checkered forend with engraved forend iron and a round knob pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, engraved casehardened cartridge trap, and a steel buttplate. Length of pull 13 1/4 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 15 oz.

Very good, retaining 95% plus original browned finish, 25% original case colors on the action with the balance a fine silver patina, some scattered minor spotting, high edge wear on the wood, a few light dings and scratches, and mostly crisp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.
