Johann Jakob Behr was active primarily in the Maastricht/Liege region from the 1690s to 1740s. These pistols have brass barrels, locks, and furniture. The smoothbore barrels have silver blade front sights, long sighting flats, and foliate engraving. The "banana" profile locks are signed "II-BEHR" and have faceted, bridle-less pans, beveled edges, and some small mask designs on the neck of the cocks. The furniture has a mix of classical, floral, and mask patterns. The later wrist escutcheons are engraved with coronets over a "AVF" monogram.

Very good with the brass displaying attractive aged patina, replacement furniture, silver-gray patina on the cock and frizzen, and moderate overall wear. The stock is good and has several cracks, splices, and other repairs, and chip absent at the nose of the lock. Mechanically fine.
