Description:

Receiver manufactured in late 1943, initially machined by Union Switch & Signal Inc. before being transfered to Quality Hardware & Manufacturing Co. for completion as a part of the company's third production block (serial numbers 4,432,100 to 4,532,099) produced from October 1943 to March 1944. Approximately 29,000 of these transfered receivers were completed by Quality Hardware and marked "UN-QUALITY" on the receiver heels. Features an "EU" marked winged blade front sight, "S" marked 'L' flip peep rear sight, "Q" type II barrel band, an uncommon but correct "W" marked Winchester supplied barrel, "UN-Q" type III operating rod, parkerized "EM-Q" flat-top bolt, and a "Q-TX" fabricated trigger housing with "LT-Q" type III magazine release, unmarked push-button safety, "GE-Q" sear, and "LT-Q" type III hammer. Fitted with two-rivet walnut handguard marked "Q-RMC" on the underside, a "high-wood" walnut stock marked "Q-RMC" in the sling channel, faint "ordnance wheel" on the right of the butt, along with two rack numbers and a "RA-P" (U.S. Raritan Arsenal) rebuild stamp on the underside of the grip, and a blued "KSG" magazine. Includes a metal oiler and OD green web sling. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 10 rounds and cannot be sold or transferred to residents in states where long gun magazine capacity is limited to no more than 10 rounds. Please check your local laws and regulations prior to bidding. Provenance: The Thomas Whiteman Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished and subsequently restored to World War II configuration, retaining 85% plus arsenal parkerized finish with light cycling wear, some dried grease, scattered minor patches of spotting/oxidation, some brown patina, some minor edge wear, and minor handling marks. The stock is very good as sanded and re-oiled with numerous scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. This is a rare opportunity to add the most elusive of all M1 Carbine manufacturers to your collection!
