Description:

One of just 217 Model 92FS pistols manufactured by Beretta with "M9" model markings at the request of competitors from the U.S. Army Reserve Marksmanship Shooting Team. These pistols were marked and configured in every way similar to the U.S. military issued M9, while still within the regular Model 92FS commercial serial range, and made available for sale to the civilian market. With the U.S. Army controlling the "M9" pistol designation, the branch initially allowed Beretta to manufacture the special run of pistols, until the decision was reversed and production of further "M9" marked Model 92FS pistols restricted. Includes a December 20, 1995, dated Beretta U.S.A. Corp. letter which confirms the pistols configuration and markings as made for the U.S. Army Reserve Marksmanship Shooting Team, a blue Beretta U.S.A. Corp. box with matching numbered end label identifying the pistol as "M9-FS", a blue Beretta hard case, two bore brushes, and an extra magazine. Consecutively serialized to the previous lot. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 10 rounds and cannot be sold or transferred to residents in states where handgun magazine capacity is limited to no more than 10 rounds. Please check your local laws and regulations prior to bidding.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus overall, retaining 99% plus original anodized and black finishes with light cycling type wear on the barrel, but otherwise limited handling marks and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.
