Some are known to have been refitted for use as a light machine gun in ground combat, with this example fitted with a bracket on the heat shield for attaching a bipod (not included). Manufactured without fixed sights, with the heat shield numbered "25576" and the receiver and top cover numbered "86319", the latter also marked "MG81/gal" (associated with Wagner). Fitted with a serrated pistol grip and a modern custom made steel buttstock.

Rating Definition:

Fine as modified overall, with 60% of the black finish on the heat shield and custom stock, 80% of the phosphate finish on the receiver and top cover, with areas of brown and gray patina, mild spotting and scattered handling marks. A welded repair is visible at the left rear of the receiver. The grip is very good, with some cracking and chipping. Mechanically very good.
