Description:

Manufactured in 1898. This model was used by the Swiss military from 1882 to as late as 1950. This example is fitted with a set of earlier hard rubber grip panels and is slotted for compatibility with a stock holster. Fixed sights, with the "WF", "+/V" and "+" markings on the left side of the frame, matching serial numbers on the frame, barrel, ejector rod, cylinder, hammer, and the inside of the sideplate, with an additional repeated number "11414" inside the sideplate and on the underside of the barrel. The included shoulder stock/holster is brown leather external construction, with a rigid internal framework and a short, unmarked mounting iron at the tip, as well as a stitched-on shoulder strap and no belt loops.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 60% plus original finish, showing some areas of thinning to a brown and gray patina, bright edge wear, and minor spotting and handling marks. The grips are very good, with a few dings on the crisp checkering. The hammer falls a bit short of completely falling when the trigger is pulled, otherwise mechanically very good. The holster is good, with scuffing and crazing on the exterior, and some tearing of the shoulder strap.
