Description:

Manufactured c. 1903-1927, the Fabrique Nationale Model 1903 semi-automatic pistol (also known as the "War Model") was developed from a John Moses Browning design and proved to be a popular among military and police buyers, both contract and private purchase, across much of Europe and saw active use into the 1940s. There was even a brief window in the 1980s where they served as a Swedish stopgap between the emergency retirement of the Lahti pistol and the acceptance of the Glock. The FN Model 1903 has a passing resemblance to the Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless, as both were based off the same design separately sold to the two firms by Browning, though the FN M1903 is considerably up-scaled for the 9x20SR Browning Long cartridge. As was the style of the time, a hardwood holster stock was an option available to the M1903, though with a more novel attachment method of a railed extended magazine well attached to the front of the stock, which slides an locks onto rails at to bottom of the grip frame and, with an extended magazine inserted, provides a significantly more rigid mounting option than many other stocked pistols of the period. Features oval blade front and rounded notch rear sights, two-line FN address and Browning patent roll-mark on the left of the slide, a lanyard lop on the left of the grip frame, and with "lion/PV" and "star/A" Belgian proofs on the frame, side, and barrel, along with additional "crown/R" and Liege proofs on the barrel. Matching serial numbers on the right of the frame, interior of the slide, and on the bottom of the barrel. Fitted with a pair of "FN" monogram checkered hard rubber grips, correctly shortened to accommodate the stock mounting rails and a standard profile blued magazine. Includes a walnut shoulder stock, with matching serial number on the iron and internal storage space for the pistol, a magazine (both normal and extended will fit), and a cleaning rod, two blued extended magazines, and a blued steel cleaning rod. Note: This item is restricted under various state-level assault weapons bans and cannot be sold or transferred to residents of CA, CT, DE, HI, IL, MD, NJ, and NY. Please check your local laws and regulations prior to bidding.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with some limited minor edge wear, some limited minor cycling, some minor mounting wear on the stock mounting rails, and a few minor handling marks. The grips are also excellent with some minor handling wear to the otherwise defined logos and checkering. Mechanically excellent. The shoulder stock is also excellent with 97% original blue on the metal hardware with limited minor handling marks visible on the wood.
