Description:

Established as a business in 1968, the Nolen family entered the custom knife game making blades for their own use before realizing there was a market for well-made American knives. 8 1/2 inches overall with a 4 1/2 inch drop point blade, featuring a 1 1/2 inch deep gut hook on the spine and file edgework on the spine and ricasso. The left side bears the Nolen "NK" logo, and the right is marked "AFRICAN SERIES/SABLE/No.1". The grip is fine black horn (statements from a prior owner attribute the material as kudu horn), with German silver and black banded caps at the ends. Included with the lot is a modern metal case and a May 1985 vintage Nolen sales booklet.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with minor spotting on the otherwise bright blade and minor handling marks overall. The sales booklet shows mild wear and creasing appropriate to age.
