Made in 1883. Fixed front sight with adjustable rear carbine sight dated 1873, ( sighting bar missing). The top of the barrel has the standard two line address reading "WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING-ARMS.NEW HAVEN.CT. / KING'S-IMPROVEMENT- PATENTED-MARCH 29. 1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860." Model designated on the upper tang and serial number on the lower. Saddle ring mounted on the left side of the receiver with staple. Third model with integral dust cover rail. Smooth forearm held on by a single barrel band and straight grip stock with an iron carbine buttplate.

Good. All metal surfaces have a dark patina with some scattered minor pitting, mostly on the barrel along the upper edge of the forearm and on the muzzle. Numerous minor dings on the top front of the receiver, some small areas of minor pitting and a small gouge on the right side. The wood is good, there is a three and a half inch minor repair on the underside of the buttstock and scattered overall minor dents and dings. All markings are readable. The action is fine.
