Made in 1896. Two line address with dashes at both ends of both lines on top of the barrel with dovetail blade and buckhorn sights and caliber markings. Casehardened frame with blued bolt, "-Model 1886-" marking on the upper tang and serial number and patent dates on the lower tang. Smooth straight grip stock with metal forearm tip and smooth crescent buttplate. A brass plate marked "4" is inlaid on the right side of the stock.

Good, with traces of original finish (on breech bolt only), the barrel and magazine have a smooth dark brown/blue patina, with some smooth wear along the high edges and light handling marks overall. The frame has turned a bright silver, with the original pattern strongest in the protected areas. The stock is repaired with some darkening around the metal and some mild pressure dents and wear. The action is excellent.
